eBenefits (www.eBenefits.va.gov) is an online tool giving Servicemembers, Veterans, & their families instant access to Department of Defense (DoD) and VA benefits information. It can be a one-stop-shop for all your benefit needs.

Applying for Compensation |
VA disability compensation provides monthly benefits to Veterans in recognition of the effects of disabilities, diseases, or injuries incurred or aggravated during active military service. This program also provides monthly payments to surviving spouses, dependent children, and dependent parents in recognition of economic loss caused by a Veteran's death during military service or, after discharge from military service, as a result of a service-connected disability. Below is a brief description of the various types of compensations veterans may qualify for:
- Disability Compensation: Tax-free monetary benefit paid to Veterans with disabilities that are the result of a disease or injury incurred or aggravated during military service. For more on Disability Compensation click here.
- Dependency & Indemnity Compensation (DIC): Tax-free monetary benefit generally payable to a surviving spouse, child, or parent of Servicemembers who died while on active duty, active duty for training, or inactive duty training, or to survivors for Veterans who died from their service-connected disabilities. - Special Monthly Compensation (SMC): additional tax-free benefit that can be paid to Veterans, their spouses, surviving spouses & parents. For Veterans this compensation is a higher rate paid due to special circumstances such as the need of aid & attendance by another person or by specific disability, such as loss of use of one hand or leg. - Claims Based on Special Circumstances: Veterans may be eligible for other types of disability compensation once a disability has been determined to be service connected. These compensation programs include individual unemployment, automobile allowance, clothing allowance, prestabilization, hospitalization, convalescence, dental, & birth defects. Veteran Educational Benefits |
VA educational benefits can be used to help you reach your education & career goals. If you're an active-duty service member or Veteran, a member of the National Guard or Reserves, or a qualified survivor or dependent you may be able to receive VA Education benefits and other educational assistance programs. Below are a list of available educational benefits:

- Post-9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33): You may be eligible for Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits if you've served on active duty for at least 90 days, whether continuous (all at once) or interrupted (for shorter periods over time), after September 10, 2001. - Montgomery GI Bill (Chapter 30 & Chapter 1606): There are two (2) Montgomery GI Bill programs available, Montgomery GI Bill Active Duty (MGIB-AD) and Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR). - Post-Vietnam Era Veterans' Educational Assistance Program (Chpater 32): VEAP educational benefits may be available for Veterans who entered service for the first time between January 1, 1977 and June 30, 1985 (for all branches other than Air Force). - Veteran Readiness & Employment (Chapter 31): VR&E, formally called Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment is available to qualified Veterans, and in some cases Veteran family members of Veterans with service-connected disabilities.
